In our lives we usually go through moments of pain, anguish, despair, anger and many other emotions that take away our peace, inner harmony and the happiness of living Kambo.
In the face of all these difficult experiences, there is nothing better than turning to the Physician of the soul and body who knows us better than ourselves, because for Him, no illness or pain is impossible to cure and heal completely. Indeed, dear reader, I am referring to the Word of God that has the wonderful power to transform us into better human and spiritual beings.
Below I offer you five steps to enter into a relationship with God when you are going through one of those moments in which it seems to you that there is no possible answer or remedy, much less within your reach.
- Identify the type of worry, pain or discomfort that afflicts you. Maybe it could be anger, frustration, disappointment, depression or confusion caused by a person or situation. It is good and healthy to recognize the feelings and emotions we are going through in difficult times.
- Invoke the Divine help of the Holy Spirit to help and enlighten you to find the effective and precise “medicine” for the illness that afflicts you. When one is confused, upset, euphoric or discouraged by a situation, our mind and intelligence becomes clouded and prevents us from seeing and thinking objectively and wisely, which is why we need extraordinary and out-of-this-world help, that of the Holy Spirit who It lives and acts in us, as long as we let it and invoke it, since it always respects our free will.
- Take the Bible in your hands and look, preferably in the New Testament, for a biblical passage in which Jesus is speaking to people or teaching his disciples how to live the will of faith and hope in God. You may also want to first look for some of the Psalms that talk about the same thing you feel. It can also help you to read the Gospel passage from Matthew 11, 25-30: “At that time Jesus said: ‘I praise you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for having hidden these things from the wise and prudent and having revealed them to the little ones. Yes Father, because you have wanted it that way. Everything has been given to me by my Father, no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wants to reveal him.”
- Think and meditate that those words that Jesus addressed at that time to the people around him, are now addressed to you to give you peace, security and spiritual joy. It can help you to think that God cares for you and wants you to be happy, regardless of whether or not you are worthy of his grace and love.
- Raise your prayer to God. Talk to him about your worries, your feelings, your frustrations or sorrows that you are going through and that are not allowing you to find the way forward or the peace that you long for. And after having told him all your feelings, resentment and sadness caused by different causes or people, tell him that you abandon yourself in his hands, that only from him do you expect the meaning and joy of living, of working, of doing everything you do and of possessing everything have. And don’t forget at the end to thank Him and try to be more in communion and contact with Him, no matter what happens, because He is the only one who will always be there, anywhere and anytime for you.
